AI Act and AI transparency
How DECiMAP labels and explains the use of artificial intelligence in its content.
Our transparency commitment
DECiMAP uses artificial intelligence tools to assist in preparing certain content, particularly press reviews. We disclose this use so that every reader can understand how the content was produced or transformed.
The European icons
This icon indicates that artificial intelligence contributed to creating or modifying the content. It does not specify the nature or extent of human involvement, which may range from simple approval to proofreading, correction, fact-checking, source selection and comparison, source prioritisation, content assembly and structuring, contextualisation, reformulation or substantial rewriting.
This icon indicates that the entire content was generated by artificial intelligence, without human-created elements or substantive human editorial control, apart from prompting the system. It therefore does not apply when a person has substantially reviewed, corrected, fact-checked, assembled, reformulated or rewritten the content before publication.
This icon indicates that pre-existing human-created content was partly transformed or enhanced using artificial intelligence. This intervention may range from minor edits to correction, translation, summarisation, reformulation, restructuring, or the addition or removal of elements, without the entire content having been generated by AI.
Use in press reviews
DECiMAP press reviews are prepared from the articles and documents listed in their Sources section. Artificial intelligence may assist with analysing, comparing, summarising, reformulating or classifying this information.
The original sources remain available from each article and should be consulted to verify information or read it in its full context.
Accessibility
Icons displayed by DECiMAP include explicit ARIA labels for assistive technologies. When an icon opens a second information layer, the control is keyboard accessible, announces that additional information is available and exposes content that can be navigated with a screen reader.
Regulatory framework
These icons support the transparency obligations established by Article 50 of the AI Act. Their use is voluntary and does not, by itself, demonstrate compliance. The disclosure requirement for public-interest text does not normally apply when human review or editorial control has taken place and a natural or legal person assumes editorial responsibility. DECiMAP nevertheless retains this labelling voluntarily.
Editorial responsibility
